The University Observer is pleased to announce the continuation of its creative writing section for Volume XXIII. The section invites current UCD students to submit short stories and poems for print publication. It is a great platform for students with a passion for creative writing to have their work noticed, given the large distribution of the newspaper to over 30,000 people on campus.
We publish every three to four weeks, and each creative writing section will be composed of one short story and five poems. The short stories can be any style or genre, but require a word count of 1,000-2,000 words to be considered for publication.
For poetry, students are invited to submit one to three poems per issue. There are no restrictions on style or content.
All submitted work should be emailed to email@example.com. In the subject line of the email, please clarify whether your entry is a short story or poem, followed by your full name. All submissions should be typed up and sent as an attachment via email. The document itself should also contain your full name, and the title of the short story or poem.
We look forward to reading and publishing the creative work of the aspiring writers of UCD.
